Q: Who can Register for ACM?

ACM is a community based platform and you may register if you are a Neighbourhood Watch, Housing Association or similar Community Safety Organisation like a Central Business District (CBD) Watch. In some areas Community Police Forums (CPF) or Sector Policing serve as these structures where no individual Neighbourhood Watches,Housing Associations or other Community Safety structures have been established. In these circumstances the Community Police Forum or Sector Police Structure may register as the organisation for that area.

Q: How do I register to use the service?

Simple just complete our registration form and pay the subscription fee and you will get access to the services.

Q: How is my subscription billed?

We offer Annual subscription (12month). At the completion of your subscription term, your subscription will be seamlessly and automatically renewed for the next term, making sure you do not encounter a moment of interrupted service. We will notify you 1 month before your renewal period. You can cancel the auto-renewal at any time in your account settings. In that case, your subscription will expire at the end of the paid term.

Q: When will I be charged for my subscription?

Once you complete our Registration form and the payment section, payment will be processed instantly. You will also gain full access to the services once you login with your details. You will then be automatically emailed an electronic receipt within 24 hours.

Q: What is your subscription refund policy?

Refunds will not be provided, if you cancel your subscription at any time, you will be responsible for paying for your commitment for the remaining term.

Q: How do I cancel my subscription and close my account?

Although we’d be sad to see you go, you can cancel your account at any time. Only an admin of your account can close it. If you're sure you would like to close your account please use the Resquest Cancellation link in your account settings confirming your cancellation. Please note you will still be charged to the end of your subscription period.

Q: What if I forget my password?

Please visit the password reset page and we will email a new password to the email address associated with your account.

Q: Can I share my password?

All passwords and logins are for 1 user only. Please keep it confidential and do not share.

Q: I am using my login credentials, but am unable to login. What should I do?

Confirm you are entering in the correct username/email address and password associated with your account (try resetting your password, Forgot Password). If you are sure that the information is correct, but still unable to log in, there may be a problem with your account. Please email support@acm-sa.co.za

Q: What do I do if I did not get a confirmation email?

Check your spam box first. If you are still not receiving a confirmation e-mail, contact support on support@acm-sa.co.za

Q: How do I update my account information?

To make changes to your account details first log into your account on top right-hand side of the webpage click the three lines and your account information will appear. At the bottom of the page you will see account settings, there you can edit and update user’s information.

Q: Can other people see our Map or Information?

You cannot view other client’s maps or information and they cannot view yours. All maps and data are private and only registered users will get access to their area map. Only those that have your login in details will get to see your information. Each client can create 5 Administrators (Admins) who can input data. Those Admins can create 20 Patrol users (in total) who will only have limited access to information (address search + Name & contact number)

Q: I just placed a crime Icon on the map, why is it not showing?

Remember that the date filter uses the date that the crime took place and not the date that it was added. First check the filter by date is not set to today’s date. Example if a crime took place 1 January but you only entered it on the map 10 June. You will not see the crime icon unless you select January date range or collectively the last 6,12,24 months range.

Q: A crime occurred in my neighbourhood but it is not displayed on the map?

It’s up to each NW, CPF, HA or other Organisation who purchased a subscription to record their Crime information onto the map. If a crime is not reported to them so they can capture it, then it will not appear on the map.

Q: I have noticed that a street or location is incorrect or missing on the Map.

ACM uses Google Maps and therefore has no control of the map data, streets, roads ERF’s etc. You would need to contact Google maps and request they correct and update their map.

Q: How can I get data that is older than six (6) months?

It is up to each individual neighbourhood watch to input crime incidents related to their area as and when they are reported to them. That way they can start or add to their data base with the relative information. If you require more historical data or more detailed information regarding a specific incident, you should contact your local NW, CPF or Saps Station.

Q: What is Patrol View user?

Designed specifically for your patrollers when out on patrol. Once you are registered you can create 20 logins for patrollers who will be able to do a member address search via search box on their phone/tablet should they need to contact a member in an emergency. Example would be if a garage door was left open the patroller would be able to notify the home owner (if he was a member) about it.

Q: What happens to my Map and Information when I cancel or close my account?

Once your request to close your account has been finalised, ACM will make arrangements with you to have your data returned before your account is closed should you so wish. We will try and do this in a convenient way that would work for you, for example as an excel sheet. (NB: charges may apply depending on the size of data stored and method of returning it).

Once the account has been closed all account information including the map will be deleted within 30 days of the account closure request. However, your data may be converted into statistical or aggregated data in such a way as to ensure that you are not identified or identifiable from it. Aggregated data cannot be linked back to you as a natural person. We may use this data to conduct research and analysis, including to produce statistical research and reports.
